About the Website
www.tamlytrilieu.com is the first Vietnamese-written website on
psychotherapy.
The Website has been published since September 11th, 2007 and it
has been continuously updated with more materials through time.
Why this Website
As a growing field of mental health services, psychotherapy
has been increasingly taken into account by many experts in Vietnam, especially
ones who work in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, social work, counseling
and special education. Recently, psychotherapy has been taught formally for students in universities
and informally in some short-term or intermittent training courses by foreign specialists who come from France, Belgium, The UK, Australia and so
on.
In an attempt to "make a bridge" that connects the trainers with
the students, the students with the practitioners, and the practitioners with
the clients - people who seek help from psychotherapy, we have tried to set up
this Website.
We wish to receive all ideas, comments and suggestions from the readers about the Website.

- Articles
We have tried to introduce articles about psychopathology and psychotherapy
to the readers, especially those who are studying clinical psychology
and practicing counseling and psychotherapy. Some articles which originate
from English-written websites are translated into Vietnamese under the
title "Reading Websites for You".
- Currriculum
This page is for students and other learners who need to know about the
general curriculum on psychotherapy, whether used formally in universities
or informally in short-term training courses. Articles on psychotherapy
are translated into Vietnamese in the "Further Reading" Page and
the "Training Documents" Page. In addition, we also introduce
exersises which can be useful for the students in their clinical study and
practice.
- References
This page is still under
construction.
- For Clients
This page includes a letter for anyone who needs to know about and/or wants
to seek professional help from psychotherapy as well as other types of
psychological supportive services. Some frequent questions and anwers are
also provided.
- Therapist Profiles
Well-known psychotherapists from all around the world are introduced here.
All students and practicians can learn a lot from their lives, their works
and their main ideas.
- External Links
This page can make other Websites on psychotherapy be found easily in order
to compensate for lack of information about the field in Vietnam. It is
suggested that all readers and learners keep trying to get more and more
knowledge from them.
- Psychopathology
This is a new page for articles about abnormal psychology, maladaptive
behavior and other abnornal phenomena in human mind. Through reading these
articles, both students and clients can get more knowledge about what is
abnormal, how such phenomena develop and influence the function of our mind,
how we can prevent and deal with them.
- Therapist's
Diary
This page is for our case
illustrations and for the issues related to our daily clinical practice. We
hope to share our experience in doing psychotherapy to other Vietnamese
colleagues and students who want to go further and further in this special
and humanistic field.
Who this Website for
People who get benefits most from this Website are of course students who are
studying clinical psychology and those who are practicing counseling and
psychotherapy as their everyday work. Others can, however, get necessary
information from the Website. For instance, clients can understand when and why
they need to seek help from a psychotherapist, what their
"problems" are and how to find whom to get help. Students and practicians
of other fields such as special education, social work, medicine... can also
find materials they need from this Website.
